These terms govern your use of the Olia app and this website. By using Olia, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the app.

The service

Olia helps you track what’s in your kitchen, generate recipes from it, and log what you eat. Some features use AI models to generate recipes, estimate nutrition, and answer questions.

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue something material to a paid subscription, you may cancel and we’ll direct you to Apple for any refund you’re entitled to.

Your account

You need an account to sync across devices. Keep your sign-in credentials secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

AI-generated content, nutrition and allergies

This section matters more than the rest, so please read it.

Recipes, nutrition estimates, shelf-life predictions and assistant replies are generated automatically and can be wrong. Treat them as suggestions, not facts.

  • Nutrition figures are estimates. Do not rely on them for medical, clinical or therapeutic purposes. If you’re managing a condition such as diabetes or kidney disease, follow the guidance of a qualified professional.
  • Allergen and dietary filtering is best-effort and can fail. Olia may miss an allergen, misread an ingredient, or misclassify a recipe. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, always check the actual ingredients yourself. Never rely on Olia alone to decide whether something is safe for you to eat.
  • Freshness and shelf-life indicators are estimates based on typical storage, not on the actual condition of your food. Use your own judgement about whether something has spoiled.
  • Olia does not provide medical, nutritional or dietetic advice, and is not a substitute for a professional.

Subscriptions and billing

Olia offers an optional paid subscription (“Olia Pro”) with monthly and annual terms.

  • Apple bills you, not us. Purchases are processed through your Apple account under Apple’s terms, and we never see your payment details.
  • Free trial. New subscribers get a 14-day free trial. If you don’t cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and you’re charged the price shown at purchase.
  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple account is charged within 24 hours of the period ending.
  • Cancelling. Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or your Olia account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple’s policies. We can’t issue them directly.
  • Price changes take effect at your next renewal, and we’ll give notice first. Apple will ask you to confirm a price increase before it applies.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Olia to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or harm others. Don’t attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service, and don’t use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, or intended to deceive.

We apply reasonable fair-use limits to AI features to keep the service available for everyone.

Your content

Your recipes, photos, logs and messages remain yours. You grant us only the licence needed to operate the service for you: storing your content, syncing it between your devices, and sending the parts of it described in our Privacy Policy to AI providers so they can generate a response.

Be aware that this is real content, not an anonymised summary of it. Depending on the feature, it includes your pantry items, your dietary preferences and allergies as written, the full text read from a receipt you scan, and photos you add food from. Receipts and photographs can contain information you did not intend to share — check what you are scanning.

We don’t use your content to train AI models.

Our content

The Olia name, mark, app and website are ours and protected by intellectual property law. These terms don’t grant you any right to use our branding.

Termination

You can stop using Olia and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. If we terminate your account without cause while you hold a paid subscription, contact us and we’ll help you seek a pro-rata refund from Apple.

Disclaimers

Olia is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Olia is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email before they take effect, and the effective date above will change. Continuing to use Olia after that means you accept the updated terms.
